Technical Diving Liveaboard – Similan Islands
Technical diving in the similan islands on board a luxury liveaboard.
Khao Lak, Thailand
Big Blue Tech celebrates the graduation of Francesco Recher from his TDI Extended Range and TDI Trimix course on board our liveaboard the Mv Pawara during a 4 Day / 4 Night journey in the Similan Islands.
This trip was accompanied by Big Blue Tech staff Ash Dunn, James Thornton-Allan, Helen Artal and Yvonne Fries.
The liveaboard departed in the evening and spent the 4 days diving in the Similan and Surin Islands. The highlight of these islands is Richeleau Rock, Elephant Head, Koh Bon and Koh Tachai which provide divers with the best in diverse marine life possible in tropical waters.
The similan islands is a controlled marine park so marine life is far abundant as compared with other diving destinations which are not governed by funded park rangers.
Life on the Mv Pawara was very easy, the on board nitrox, en suite bathrooms, large dive deck, sorb for rebreathers and private diving area provide the luxury technical divers often seek for their diving. Mv Pawara had previously stocked up with oxygen and helium to provide enough gas for all the technical and rebreather divers on this trip.
Mv Pawara is privately owned but operated by Big Blue Diving – Khao Lak Branch where Big Blue Tech also operate out of during their season of November to April.
The highlight of the trip was the unlimited visibility where divers at 50m could be seen from the surface!
While the majority of the divers depart of home and Koh Tao Ash remains in Khao Lak for another Technical Diving Liveaboard next week which will host 3 dives aiming to complete their PADI Tec 50 course, this journey will be the last one for the season.
